Distillery District
Fermenting Cellar – 28 Distillery Lane

Hyper-localized flea markets have been increasing in popularity in Toronto, prompting one market, the Leslieville Flea, to move to a bigger home now at the Distillery District.

The Leslieville Flea takes place the third Sunday of every month and features "a variety of vendors selling one of a kind items, furniture, hand crafted designs, antiques, vintage clothing, designer pieces and more," according to its website. More than 60 vendors will be participating in this week's event, including graphic print city-influenced company Streetcar Prints, antique furnishing, clothing and curiosities company Bragg and Bee, and craftsman Son of a Woodcutter.

The event is free to attend. If you're a vendor interested in participating, applications are being accepted for February, March and April, and information can be found here.

For a full list of vendors check out the Leslieville Flea's website here.

Kraftwerk's 3-D concert experience comes to Canada
March 29, 2014
The Sony Centre
Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster on January 17

German group Kraftwerk has been churning out their own brand of "robot rock" since the mid-70's, but they've changed gears to focus their performances more one experiences—turning the concert into what a press release describes as "a perfectly synchronized audio-visual spectacle complete with pristine digital sound and 3-D projections" and "a pure electronic art-rave."

The band has been taking this show on the road and finally announced Canadian dates earlier this week—first in Toronto on March 29, followed by a performance in Montreal on the 30th.

In a 5-star review printed in the Guardian last year, musician and music writer Brian Ritchie describes the experience: "Visuals using the languages of musical notation, advertising, scientific formulae, architectural drawing, computer modeling, typography and Bauhaus colour theory take audiences on a ride more akin to amusement park than concert hall. People gasp and duck as space debris and German phrases are hurled at them. When the 3-D technology is not invading the hall, it creates stage depth and the illusion that the performers are floating amid the action."
