Toronto's Financial District is marked by a cluster of skyscrapers - some of the highest in Canada - visible for many kilometers outside of the city. Home to the head offices of many Canadian and international companies as well as all the major banks (each has their own building), the financial district is the cockpit of the Canadian economy as well as its civic core with both City and Metro Halls found here. The northern part of this precinct has been dubbed Toronto's "Discovery District" as it's home to many medical and research institutions.
