Leslieville - The Beach

Balance in The Beach
Balance in The Beach

Leslieville and The Beach neighbourhoods are found along the eastern stretch of Queen Street. In the last decade Leslieville has evolved from a largely working class neighbourhood to one of mixed incomes and diverse retail. In recent years art galleries, gourmet coffee houses and restaurants have moved into the area. Along the southern edge of the neighbourhood are the studios for a large part of Toronto's film industry.

The Beach has long been a desirable Toronto neighbourhood that, as one of the few parts of the city with unencumbered access to Lake Ontario, mixes a cottage atmosphere with big city life. At the end of the Queen Streetcar line is the R.C. Harris Filtration Plant, one of Toronto's most recognizable landmarks.

The Zero Point in Leslieville offers another kind of green to eco-minded Toronto homeowners

Home building and renovations don't have to have a big human and ecological footprint. Kay Valley channels her creativity and passion for human rights and the environment into The Zero Point, her design centre and building supply store on Queen Street East.
